Haunted Houses and Realtor Horror Stories
Episode 325: True tales of things that go bump in the listing.
What do ghost dogs, cold basements, spinning record players, and whispering spirits have in common? Yep — they’ve all shown up in these haunted house real estate stories.
In this fan-favorite annual episode, Katy and Alissa read true paranormal real estate tales sent in by fellow Realtors. Some are hilarious, some are horrifying — and all of them will leave you wondering just how far your job description really goes.
You’ll hear stories of spirits who open cabinets, haunted homes bought sight unseen, and even a ghost professor who just wanted his research archived.
If you’ve ever wondered whether that creepy vibe during a showing was in your head, this one’s for you. Grab a flashlight and tune in for:
- Ghost sightings during listing photos
- A record player spinning in a house with no power
- Cold blasts of air and video glitches
- Buyers vanishing mid-showing — literally
- And agents just trying to make it out alive 😅
This one is just for fun — no tips, just terror. Happy Halloween!
When the Listing Itself Fights Back
Doors slamming, cabinets flying open, record players spinning in powerless homes — these stories remind us that not all property quirks are cosmetic.
Some listings have more than creaky floorboards. Whether it’s a photographer chased out by a voice saying “get out” or a dog refusing to cross the threshold, these houses make themselves known.
Ghosts With Personality
From a friendly professor-turned-poltergeist to a frustrated spirit flinging poop rags (yes, really), these ghosts were anything but boring. Some agents smudged. Some politely said goodbye. One even delivered paranormal research to a college archive to appease the spirit. Commitment!
When the Ghost Photobombs
Several stories include eerie photos — like the figure resembling a deceased husband captured in a listing photo or the baby grand piano room that turned mysteriously grayscale where a figure had been seen. Some ghosts apparently want camera time.
Would You Still Buy It?
Some buyers were completely unfazed by ghostly encounters — moving in sight unseen and staying happily ever after. Others fled within weeks. And in one case, the buyers never knew… until the curtains moved themselves.
What We’ve Learned About Haunted Houses
- Talk to the ghosts. They apparently appreciate it.
- Don’t ignore cold air blasts, video glitches, or sudden dread.
- Always double check your listing photos… 👀
- And maybe don’t show the house alone if the last agent ran out crying.
